Rules and Regulations
RAM Universal welcomes you to the Academy of Hospitality Management.
We wish you an enjoyable stay in our Seminar and Hotels in collaboration.
In order to work together and maintain a satisfactory working environment all students should take into consideration the following aspects. Please read them carefully, memorize them and sign at the bottom of the pages.
- At all times within the Hotel premises you have to be dressed in smart casual clothes and be well groomed.
- Take care of your clothing in the evening, no sports shoes, no torn jeans.
- Body Piercing is not allowed, we prefer you do not wear them on any visible parts of the body, except for a maximum of 3 (three) ear-rings in the ear only - for women, and 1 (one) ear-ring in the ear only - for male staff. (Especially Children Animators – as it is dangerous for children).
- Cover all visible tattoos.
- Never shave your head completely. A minimum of 1 cm. hair should be on the head at all times.
- Hygiene Rules.
- Shaving the beard is a “must” for men (men every day).
- Women should shave their under-arms regularly.
- If you have long hair, it should be kept tidy.
- It is obvious but we remind you any way:-
- think about good breath,
- brush your teeth regularly,
- wash your hands after visiting the toilet.
- Do not smell !
- Use deodorant
- Change your clothes a number of times per day if necessary.
- Shower every morning before starting work, & before and after entering the pool.
- Wash your clothes after every day’s use.
- The Student agrees to a dress code of :-
- During Working Hours - Uniform as required by the place of work.
- During 'Free-time' during the Day – decent T-shirt and shorts or trousers with clean classic or sports shoes.
- During Evenings - Decent Trousers, Shirt and Decent polished Shoes.
- It is here by emphasized that at NO TIME shall the Student wear SCRUFFY JEANS or T-shirts in the Evenings, - and shall at NO TIME be seen in his/her Swimming attire or without shoes, during the day - except while performing any activities in the swimming pool or in the ocean.
- It is mandatory for the student to bring with him :-
- 2 White shirts
- 1 black trousers for men and 1 black skirt for women.
- 1 pair of flat black shoes
- 1 pair of formal shoes (closed)
- A Police Clearance. (Certificate of good conduct)
- Manners.
- Never ever drink from a bottle ! Always use a glass or a straw.
- Do not chew gum while conversing with guests, moderating or in the restaurant.
- Always remove your sunglasses when you approach any person, to have eye contact as you speak to them.
- Never touch food from the buffet with your hands. Don’t eat anything directly from the buffet, put it on your plate first and sit at a table before putting it in your mouth.
- When you are having your meals you are supposed to be with the guests for public relations, don’t gather at one table, unless you are instructed to do otherwise.
- You will have your breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel restaurant, or with the Hotel staff.
- Accommodation.
- Your responsibility is to maintain the best possible standards of cleanliness and keep your personal belongings tidy.
- Clean your room or apartment. You shall be sharing your room with others, so respect your room-mates.
- Maintenance is a must; leave the room in the condition in which you found it. (Which should be good!)
- Regarding your rooms, you are fully responsible for damages caused by carelessness.
- Broken material should be paid for or replaced by the student living in the room or apartment.
- It is forbidden to gather more than 2 persons outside anybody’s place of accommodation after 23:30 hrs. (as courtesy to others who wish to sleep).
- It is forbidden to go out until late at nights after 01 am., as it is not possible to be fit for work the next day. It is permitted to go out later than 1 am., only one night before your day off, so you may sleep in, on your day off.
- As a courtesy to your colleagues and guests, please do not bang doors or make noise in your rooms.
- Do not turn the music or television up very loud as it may annoy neighboring guests or staff. This is especially important after midnight, keep the room very quiet.
- When you enter the area of accommodation late at night, do not be loud, as other people may be sleeping. Respect your neighbors. Some colleagues start work very early in the mornings and wish to rest at night.
- Do not forget to turn off water and electric appliances and lights before you leave the room.
- Do not play loud music either inside or outside you room.
- Respect other people.
- General rules
- Students always smile, greet the hotel guests and members of the hotel staff. (also in Greek, if you are able to learn the basic terms)
- Students always have to be happy, social, helpful and polite.
- Students never argue, with or in front of a hotel guest or other students. Sort out all differences in the privacy of your rooms, in a quiet and civilized manner.
- Never talk bad about the hotel where you are placed to work, to ANY person.
- Never discuss personal problems or team problems with the hotel guests.
- Never ask for money, cigarettes or drinks from the hotel guests or other staff.
- Students that do not respect the rules of the hotel and do not follow the orders of their chief will be removed from the hotel.
- It is strictly forbidden to take mobile phones to activities or use them during working hours. Leave them in your rooms or apartments.
- If you have an illness or injury, interaction with hotel guests is not allowed. Stay away from the hotel until you are absolutely recovered and presentable. The guest come to a hotel to forget their problems and have a good time, and we should not burden them with our problems.
- If you become unwell or injure yourself, inform your chief as soon as possible.
- If you face a problem with client(s) and you do not know what to answer or they seem angry, call your supervisor and let them handle the situation.
- Never promise the guests anything, even if you have the consent of your supervisor.
- If you are found to be taking or handling narcotics of any sort, the police will be informed immediately, and you will be dismissed from the company.
- Each student is obliged to have proper communication skills and mix well with people of all nationalities.
- Every student is responsible for a good relationship with the rest of the team.
- Do not forget that this is a place for work and not for holidays.
- Students must be in time for all activities, night programs and meetings. You must turn up 15 minutes early, to be well prepared.
- If you are late there will be disciplinary action.
- Smoking during work is not allowed. At “no time” can an animator smoke in the mini club or back-stage.
- Uniforms must be worn throughout the day while at work. The only exception is on your days off.
- Every student should be in possession of black trousers, black shoes, a white shirt and sport shoes. The equivalent is needed for women. Everybody must wear a watch.
- Remember you are here for work and not for a vacation.
- It is forbidden to
- Drink any alcohol.
- Loiter within the premises of work outside of working hours.
- Rent any mode of 2 wheel motorized transportation.
- Organise or participate in any kind of outside activities such as Beach Parties etc.
- Swim in the hotel’s swimming pool or at the adjacent beach.
- Lie on sun-beds within the premises of work.
- Visit colleagues in other hotels where they are placed for practice or work.
- Leave the hotel premises for more than 24 hours without informing the hotel reception (in writing) where they can reach you. This is for your own safety.
- Go out until late at nights after 01 am., as it is not possible to be fit for work the next day. It is permitted to go out later than 1 am., only one night before your day off, so you may sleep in, on your day off.
- Have any personal relationships with other staff, guests or outsiders at the location of the Hotel.
- To go to another person’s room, or to take anyone to your room.
- Consume over doses of alcohol or any other sort of intoxicants, or narcotics.
- Discuss any matters pertaining to other Students with anyone.
- Sign contracts with any third party, or take any commissions from anyone, while under contract.
- Discuss or attempt to solve any matters between the Hotel and the guests, nor shall he/she speak to the guests, of any problems between the Hotel and the Hotel Staff.
- Recommend to anyone where they can
- rent anything
- go for sightseeing
- go for entertainment outside the hotel
- go for meals or entertainment.
For anyone that request such information, please direct them to the Hotel Reception.
A violation of these rules shall result in disciplinary action and in certain occasions depending on the degree of violation, could also result in the termination of your contract.

Additional Rules for Animators
Activities for Animators
- Rule number 1 is “Safety First”.
- Do not conduct any activities, games or perform any kind of duty that could result in injury to anyone or damage to material.
- Always be on time for an activity, which means at least 15 minutes before it starts.
- Organize activities the best way possible for your participants.
- Ensure that activities are carried out safely for the clients wherever the location may be.
- During activities do not sit down.
- If something goes wrong or something unusual occurs during an activity report it immediately to your chief.
- Participate in public relations before, during and after an activity.
- During an activity if you sweat a lot, shower and change your clothes after it.
- Do not use the hotel towels for gymnastics, or to clean anything anywhere.
- Never force or pull a guest to participate in an activity. Ask them politely after greeting them.
- Children Animators:
- Do not allow children under the age of 4 into the mini club without the permission and company of their guardian or parent.
- Always ask daily the name, age and room number of every child in the mini club and maintain a daily “Mini Club Log-book”.
- Backstage and Technical areas:
- Keep the backstage and technical cabin clean and tidy.
- It is forbidden to smoke, eat or drink in the technical area.
- If not in use keep the backstage and technical areas locked.
- After daytime activities ensure that you have all that you will need for the evening entertainment. (CD’s, special equipment etc.)
- Respect the equipment you use, as it will be used again in future.
- Clean your make-up right after each activity and keep the costumes tidy and handle them with care.
- Under no circumstances should you ever take any equipment off hotel premises. It shall be considered a theft and you shall be reported to the appropriate authorities.
- Always turn light and sound systems off at the hour set by the hotel director.
- Be careful using the microphone.
- Do not enter the technical area if you are wet.
- Do not put technical equipment near water!
- Do not enter the technical cabin without shoes.
The Student agrees to direct all questions with reference to his/her contract, only to the management of RAM Universal, and shall not attempt to get guidance from, or misguide “any” third party.
